The Phantom weighs 41.5g and is the lightest keylock screwgate biner in the world. It also is very functional and very strong with a major axis strength of 23kN and a gate open strength of 9kN. DMM says they could have made it even lighter if they were willing to compromise on it's strength and safety, but they were not willing to produce an offset D carabiner with a gate open strength of less than 9kN. If we were to accept a gate open of 7 kN DMM says they could have kept the same size and got down to 20g. However they do not believe that 7kN gives enough safety margin.The same thought process is applied to the carabiner gate and barrel - DMM could have reduced the wall thicknesses to drop the weight down even further, but they have kept the same high strength 7075 components that they use on a lot of their other I-beam carabiners. This barrel has a massive push-in strength. DMM has acheived all this by using the same special alloy that they use on the Phantom wiregates and using their knowledge of forging/heat treating aluminium. All the standard DMM features are present - smooth steep internal radiuses to minimise the chances of the carabiner hanging up or of the carabiner being loaded badly, fully anodised finish and an internal rope groove.The Phantom series of carabiners are the ultimate range for traditional and alpine climbing.

I love this carabiner. It's so convenient that you don't have to twist the lock every time you want to lock it. It's also a great size so it fits all my gear with room to spare.

An Excellent Belay Carabiner
I use both this model and a RockLock Screwgate model currently. I really like the Twistlock because, as was stated in the previous review, it's impossible to forget to lock it. You can't close the gate without locking it -- closing the gate requires a 1/2 twist on the locking mechanism, which is spring-loaded. So when you close the gate, releasing the locking mechanism causes it to spring back into the locked position.

There is a downside to this. Since the biner, when closed, is always in the locked position, it can be a little bit more difficult to handle than the Screwgate in certain circumstances. The Screwgate locking mechanism can maintain its unlocked position, so a one-handed twist of the lock will then free up both hands to manipulate the biner and whatever it is attached to. With this Twistlock model, one hand must be holding the lock in the open position or else it will lock again. It's a relatively minor distinction for my needs, and at any rate it's not a design flaw, just a design difference.

I'd definitely recommend this biner, especially for those who may be worried about possibly forgetting to lock a Screwgate model. Personally, I use it as my full-time belay carabiner now, and the Screwgate has been relegated to locking the chalk bag to my harness.

Great price, good quality, funny nose
Another biner from Mad Rock, the Ultralight Wiregate, is a really great design, but this keylock solid gate I didn't like as much because of its funny shaped nose with a strong angle from the basket to nose, which may make it a bit less smooth unclipping than some other keylocks. But then again, for the price, these are still a great value. Everything else is good. Smooth gate, lightweight, and strong.

It is kind of a weird shape, it's a bit longer than normal and about the same width at the top as the bottom is. The ball lock is great --a little unneeded but pretty stylish. It holds 28 KN-- which is about 6,300 lbs. It's aluminum and light.

I have used this on my climbing rack for years, NEVER has any of them ever freezed up...
And duh it doesn't state 3, rate the item not your lack of sight. This biner in the ball lock is totally great for setting anchors with a cordlette and fast too! I own 8 of them 6 in ball lock two in screw-lock.

Great Base Camp for a day at the beach.
Bought this for our spring break camping trip in Florida's panhandle.
First day was VERY windy. If we had a tail, I think we could have flown it as a kite. I consider it a success that the cabana didn't rip apart.
Our second adventure worked much better. Still windy, but not as bad as the first day. Filled the pockets with sand, (and buried them in sand as well) Worked great and it was nice to have a place to keep all the beach toys and get out of the sun and wind occasionally.

Practical Beach Shelter
Very easy to assemble. We did purchase heavier stakes since our beach is on the Gulf of Mexico where the winds can be strong. Adds more stability. Well made. Would recommend to anyone. Price is worth every dollar.

Excellent for the beach!
We bought this to shade the little one while playing on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL --- easy assembly (which we tried once before we left for vaca - recommend that) each day it was a little easier, but never hard. Perfect for what we needed!! We didn't even use the stakes, just filled up the "pockets" with sand and put our cooler and beach bag inside - never once had any issues. Highly recommend it!

Great Harness
This is a great harness. We had bought this one and the Wiz Kids. We returned the wiz kids and exchanged it for another of this Kids A-Bod harness. It fits all our kids great, whereas the Wiz Kids did not fit our kids right at all. It just had a bad design. This one is really great. It fits our 11 year old as well as our 4 year old!

Great quality and value
For the cost I can't fault this classic harness. I bought it for my 10 year old son who is quite slim and has to have it as small as it will go so I'd reccomend trying it on first if it's for a young or very slim kid. The clip buckles on the leg straps make it very quick to get in and out of after first set up and the red belay loop makes it easy for my son to spot which way is the front. The waist buckle is a little awkward for him though and I think could have been designed better. All in all I'd reccomend this harness though. 4/5
